Turning 40 has been a strange experience. For the first time, I became aware of my own mortality. I don’t feel 40 and I don’t think I look it. As I begin to develop this blog, you will probably think I am an adolescent but trust me: I am 40 YEARS OLD!!

Yes ladies…I am single. Now don’t all of you rush to post your email addresses. Unless you want to.

I think I have spent too much time looking for Mrs. “Right Now” as opposed to Mrs. Right. I’m not sure I am ready to settle down but I am starting to think about my legacy. I once heard someone say that having offspring is the only way that you can live forever….hmm…that’s deep. In any event, I do wish I had a child or three because I do like children. My mother had me in her late 40′s so perhaps it is genetic. I don’t know.

Being a man, I probably don’t get as much crap about still being single with no children as women who are in the same situation. I always hear “you can keep having kids into your 60′s”. That may be true but who wants to be running behind kids at 60?.

I will use this Blog to post stupid meanderings and things that interest me but also to post my status on settling down and becoming a contributing member to society. You know…2.5 kids, an SUV…all that good stuff.

No, I’m not a virgin and I know that life is not about Butthole pleasures.
